A stop-motion short that explores the sensory world of my 9 year old autistic son, James. "Happy Dance" is an official selection of CAAMFest 2014, Cairo Video Art Festival 2013, and the Woodstock Museum Film Festival 2013.

The focus of the video is not on the problems associated with autism but with the extreme pleasure James gets from simple every day experiences. Perhaps autism, in its hyperawareness of the tangible world reveals an alternative route to joy.
