At the core, I am a sculptor. I make objects with my hands but oftentimes, my creations have a digital after life in photography and video. These objects serve as a springboard to tell stories in photography and video and play with space and time.
Lately, I've been fascinated with ceramics, immersing myself in the pure pleasure of creating with earth. My ceramic work is art that is meant not for a pedestal but for daily life. I want to create art that is not only inspired by the reality of our world but is handled, filled, and used daily, in the home.
Always present in my work is the awareness of ourselves, as embodied beings, and our place in this complex and challenging world, as we grow and as we age.
